    THE MILFORD CENTRE, AUCKLAND

NZRPG purchased the mall in 2006 and after a significant refurbishment has strategically re-positioned the offer at the retail level, to provide for a high-end fashion component supported by the existing anchors, totalling 53 tenancies. Future expansion will add to the thriving retail offer and serve to position the Milford Centre as a prestigious retail centre on Auckland's North Shore.

A residential addition will see apartments built above the existing and extended retail extension.

    HIGHBURY SHOPPING CENTRE, AUCKLAND

NZRPG purchased this centre in 2005 and undertook an ambience upgrade.  Just 5km from the CBD, Highbury has 34 tenants, a 14,000 sqm gross lettable area and 300 undercover carparks.

Highbury is a convenience centre that serves its local community and is anchored by The Warehouse and Countdown.

    FRASER COVE, TAURANGA

A successful outdoor shopping centre, Fraser Cove offers 36 tenancies, a 32,500 sqm net lettable area and over 1,000 carparks. Fraser Cove serves Tauranga's city wide catchment, with strong anchors and many of New Zealand's leading retail brands. The site is conveniently located close to the Tauranga CBD and major roading infrastructure.

  • We Balance

Westgate offers a vibrant new focus for residents, retailers, shoppers and visitors. Westgate has community amenities, shopping, business and recreation facilities together providing the perfect balance for locals and visitors.

A hub for retail and commercial activity in the Northwest, yet balanced with the serenity of the surrounding parks, ponds and recreation facilities.

People are looking for ways of living and working that give them better balance. Westgate offers the perfect balance for living , working, playing and gathering. It’s a modern yet spirited place with strong connections to authentic community living and the Northwest environment.

Westgate is one of three major urban developments currently underway in the northwest of Auckland alongside the creation of the Hobsonville Corridor and the development of Hobsonville Point including Yard 37 and The Landing. These projects are the first stages of the urbanisation transformation underway.

Auckland Council estimates the first stage of the combined development centred around an exciting new metropolitan centre (Westgate), new schools, community facilities, open spaces, new roads and better transport links will generate 20,000 new jobs. Ten thousand homes are currently planned and ultimately a tota of 25-30,000 new homes will be built in the Northwest. The Council is investing $300 million over the next 10 years in what is estimated to be a combined $1 billion investment.

  • Main Street

Main Street (external mixed use) & Town Square/Hospitality Precinct (cafes, restaurants, bars)

The main street is the central spine of the Town, starting at the existing open air shopping centre, through the town square to the large format retail/homemaker precinct and onto the home trade precinct - a total distance of 2km!

"Real streets, charged with the life that retail energy provides and complete with civic uses which complement the commercial aspect. Architecturally, this allows a diversity of form and aesthetic in the fabric of the development which has to be robust enough to allow for opportunities which can develop and move through the passage of time, through economic, civic and cultural evolution of the urban environment.” .  David Thornton, Principal, Buchan Group Architects.

    Westgate Mall

The mall is an integrated component of the overall shopping experience and will complement the main street retail to provide a diverse and exciting offer. It will comprise of specialty and major retail stores, a food court and ample parking.

Main Street adjacent to the Mall

Where bustle takes on a new meaning. It’s the “main street” of the new metropolitan centre, a home to retailers, boutiques and household names. This is the heart of Westgate and the Northwest.

Town Square will offer a variety of indoor and covered outdoor dining and hospitality options for all occasions.

  • We Design

Westgate Town Centre is a traditional Town Centre incorporating a diverse, compact and integrated range of mutually compatible activities and facilities, the layout of which creates a street based retail area with a focus on pedestrian movement.

The design and layout provides a network of public streets ensuring users are provided with a choice of routes and connections.

    Landscaping

The landscaping philosophy for the project allows the development to integrate into its surrounding landscape setting with the natural landscape utilized as the focus for recreational/ open space and stormwater management.

The tree planting will maintain a high level of visual amenity throughout the Town Centre utilising a combination of deciduous and evergreen species.

A range of public open spaces are located throughout the town which provide walkable links between  the precincts.  The Town Park will is an open setting to relax in and enjoy and is close to the Town Square which is the “centrepiece’ of the urban centre.   Incidental gathering places are incorporated into the street typologies to further enhance the “town centre” experience with planting and seating and a palette of street furnishings.
